My husband does this thing at the end of a phone conversation. It might be because he is British. He initiates ending the conversation, like this for example:
Him: Okay honey, well I gotta get going. I have this (very importantish thing) to do.
I go along, willing to end the conversation because I have nothing important to add, but expecting what is going to happen next.
Me: Alright then, I will talk to you later.
This is when most people say "Okay, bye" and hang up right? Cause that is not what happens next with G.
Recap:
Him: Okay honey, well I gotta get going. I have this (very importantish thing) to do.
Me: Alright then, I will talk to you later.
Him: Okay, oh hey, did you check the mail?
Me: Yes, there are a few bills.
Him: Okay, I really gotta run.
Me: Alright honey, see you later on. Love you.
Him: Love you too... Oh hey, did you hear about Jill?
Me: Yeah, sounds terrible huh...
Him: I know! Can you imagine. Oh no! It's raining! I gotta go!
Me: Okay, Bye
Him: Oh hey honey, did you ever get a hold of your mom about tomorrow?
Me: Yeah, she said it is fine.
Him: Okay. Talk to you later.
Me: Okay, bye...
Him: How is the baby?
Me: He is playing with his blocks. He is in a good mood.
Him: Okay honey, I really have to go.
Me: Okay, bye
Him: Okay, bye! Love you
Me: Love you too.

There is a minimum of 4 attempts to end the conversation before it actually ends. He just loves me so much he can't hang up...

I think I would rather have that than the way most people end conversations with me.
Them - "See (talk to) you later."
Me - "Alright then."
*they already had hung up*
So rude.
